She has scales on certain parts of her body, mainly on her back but she usually wears a coat over them other parts are difficult to see because they are so small, but include both her arms, her legs and just under her breasts. IV. Is usually barefoot. A recent development has had her feet look slightly more like fins. This makes most human shoes unable to fit her. V. Prefers dresses, or skirts and loose torsos over trousers. VI. She wouldn't be a minstrel without her trusty Mandolin. personality
history Maria doesn't knows anything about her human parents, if they were even human. One of her first memories are of being tortured by Dark Ones. She only vaguely remembers their faces a little bit but doesn't go back about it often. The very first thing she remembers was being protected by a Milotic. She doesn't remember why she was there nor why the Milotic was protecting her, but presumely her village was attack by bandits or war bands and mabye it was a pokémon of her parents. In any case the Milotic didn't hold long and was captured with her by dark ones. She never saw the Milotic again. It seemed that they were using her as an experiment to see how children would react to having Pokémon DNA ignited in her. This worked as well as you would think. Not only did it physically hurt her, mentally she was a wrack for years. She was cast of and deemed as a failure as even after one year she wasn't able to do anything like they hoped she would. Afraid, she tried her best to return to her homeland, which was not without perils. Her pokémon side however was still growing and seemed to have a weak, calming effect on wild pokémon. Not enough to defeat them or anything, she doubted that it would keep working if she attacked them. Enough to get away from them at least. She survived by begging, mostly to humans as dark ones didn't seem like the generous kind to her, not the mention what they had done to her earlier. This was hard at first, but the closer she came to human lands the better it went. She looked rather normal for a Gejinka at least. Eventually entering human lands, she remembered one important detail. She had no clue to where she used to live before. In the next town she came across a band of minstrels. She started to travel with them, though most didn't trust her nature, it always stayed calm for now. It became more visible over the years, but since she didn't hid the fact that she was a Gajinka most started to trust her to a certain degree, at least enough to let her stay. Her powers did started to show, but as long she aimed those at bandits or local wildlife they were being put to good use. Not everyone was accepting her with open arms though, afraid that she would one day turn against them. Skip forward to when she was sixteen she had grown into a fine looking young woman. Though she had some scales, which became larger and bigger each year. Her powers increased too. Whens he found these people she couldn't even fire a beam of water straight for a meter, but now that was starting to go pretty well. When she was nineteen years old a forest fire killed almost every member of the group she was traveling with. Thanks to her powers she could keep herself safe, It didn't take long for the fragmented group to fall apart. Leaving Maria only with her clothes, and mandolin. She survived the last year as a wandering minstrel, who would do almost anything if the price was right. Usually this was just singing songs in a tavern or telling stories to children in a village just before bedtime. But sometimes she was hired to spy on someone, and once someone even offered her to kill someone, she could just resist that one. A few times she also stole some specific items. She liked this life, but was curious what else could be done. As since she clearly had a fish like pokémon's DNA in her, she might look more like it later, she wouldn't be that beautiful anymore which would severely hamper her performance. Now she walks human and elven lands, trying to avoid dark ones lands as much as possible. the other half Because her pokémon form is water type she needs to stay more hydrated then a average human. This means she usually needs to drink a lot of water, but bathing in water can also be a good way. She can stay underwater longer than a normal human can, but still needs resurface every hour at least once. She also has a calming aura, but it has weakened a lot over the years since she didn't need to rely on it anymore, and used her power mainly for entertainment or battling of threads. Said aura only ever worked on Pokémon, and trained pokémon usually have enough discipline to resist it. Finally it only works if the target thinks it's safe. Once the user or one of the users allies attacks it's going to fight back. It should also be noted that since she acquired the DNA early it was very unstable and is still blooming in her. She has no idea when it will stop growning.
