Finally, they were home. Or, home-ish. The Mareep were left to roam free in the fenced area that Mimi protected. The Herdier watched the Mareep happily, following them through the meadow while Leo relaxed. The man took Rose back to the stables and unsaddled her, washed her off, then put only her bitless bridle on. He then rode back out to relax with his Pokemon and the Mareep. He leaned back against one of the fences and lit a cigarette, sucking in deep before he breathed the smoke out. Rose took to grazing with the sheep, and Nemo sat next to Leo. What a pleasant day.
Leo was honestly happy to have a day like it. Being able to relax a bit. He still had to make dinner and have his afternoon tea, but there was nothing against taking a few minutes to just enjoy nature. The air was fresh and the Mareep were enjoying their time. Speaking of which...
Rose was beginning to fidget, the Rapidash pawing at the ground. Leo got up and stuck his cigarette in his mouth and watched her begin to run. It was a very nice day. Peaceful. Calm. --

ALISHA TAY MCCALL
you got that james dean day dream look in your eye, and I got that red lip classic thing that you like
Nearby, a young woman sat on a smooth grey rock, her bright red eyes locked onto the man and his Pokemon. At first glance, Alisha assumed he was a rancher like her. There were five - no, six - Mareep grazing on the thick clumps of grass. Alisha looked fondly at the fluffy sheep, thinking of her own at her ranch.
Besides the girl was a large canine, sitting protectively next to his trainer. He gave a small whine, lightly headbutting the girl. Alisha smiled faintly, petting the Arcanine for a while before redirecting her attention back towards the man. It's not like he attracted her or anything, but, it was surprising to see another rancher around here.
Today was one of the days that Alisha wasn't thinking about her vanished mother. She was simply just enjoying the moment - including the soft breezes that were kissing her skin and the delightful noises of Pokemon.
The redhead shifted her gaze towards the darting Rapidash, admiring the agile horse. It made her want a Ponyta herself, though Arcanine made a fine riding partner, too.
Alisha bit her lip briefly then stood up. "Come on, Benny," she spoke quietly. She strolled over and leaned on the fence, her lips curling into a smile. "Hey, there!" the redhead called loudly, lifting her arm to wave slightly. "I'm assuming you're also a rancher?"

A sudden low growl from Mimi alerted Leo that they were being watched. Old habits die hard, especially for the former Champion of a once all-right Region, until two wars tore it to shreds. He didn't bother getting up and instead stuck his cigarette inside his mouth again. The sheep were grazing peacefully, quietly munching on their grass, used to being under constant watch. In the event someone actually recognized Leo, he had a plan: attack, burn everything he owned, run. That's almost what he did last time, except the war burned his home and his way of life for him. Ah well.
Yup, couldn't be trouble with that voice. Leo looked over his shoulder and gave a bright smile as he gave a small wave in return. "Aye, I am," Leo said as he stood up and walked towards the fence. Rose lifted her head and snorted. Nemo eyed the large dog, but assumed it was fine. If Leo wasn't worried, then Nemo wouldn't be. Besides, the sheep needed tending to. "Not much of one with just six Mareep, but they are good company."
Damn this girl had some red hair. That was the first thing Leo usually noticed about people, the hair then the eyes. "You must be a rancher as well, what herd do you look after?" Leo turned his head to baaing noises, only to find Nemo and Mimi were trying to separate two fighting sheep.

Alisha curled her lips into a large smile, glad that the rancher was quite friendly as well. "I agree! Mareeps do make great company," the redhead responded, continuing to lean against the fence. "I also take care of a herd of Mareeps. I can't resist them! They're super cute and mellow," The red-eyed girl said enthusiastically.
The canine besides her stared right back at the other Pokemon, clearly distrusting them. Benny then eyed the man with a slight huff. Alisha, who was still talking, clearly did not notice the Arcanine's disrespectful behavior.
"Whoops!" Alisha smacked herself in the forehead. "I totally forgot to introduce myself. I'm Alisha McCall! It's great to meet you!" Her voice rang loudly into the air, clearly delighted to finally meet someone else in the 'neightborhood'. "And you are?"

Leo trained his Pokemon to be respectful, quiet creatures when near other humans. Nemo had trouble with this as he kept looking back at the dog and giving a low grumble of anger at it. Mimi seemed to understand Leo's training and ignored the dog but kept it in the corner of his eye. Rose, well, she was Rose. A trained war horse that had been through too much to not be suspicious. She strode over to Leo and stood behind him, her eyes narrowing at the canine. Rose bumped her nose into Leo's shoulder, relaxing her legs a bit when he patted her nose and held her head close to his neck.
"That they are," Leo sighed. He loved how calm the Mareep were. They obeyed directions. "Alisha McCall, eh?" Leo tried out the name and committed it to memory. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss McCall. I'm Leo Tore." Leo hated using the name. He preferred Shi above them all, but that name had too much history, especially for the region. Maybe he should have fled? But then he would have left the region that he was to protect. No, he wasn't a coward. And the character Leo wasn't a coward either.
Leo ignored the Arcanine for all intensive purposes. He wasn't going to concern himself with another person's Pokemon. The Pokemon wasn't under his charge and thus wasn't his problem. As long as it left his Pokemon and the herd alone, Leo could care less about what it did. Mostly: as long as it stayed on the other side of the fence and didn't make too much noise. "I was about to head back home for a cup of tea. Would you like to join me?" It was always polite to offer. Leo may sleep in a barn more often than not when the Mareep are lonely and his Pokemon aren't keeping them company, but he wasn't raised in one.
