He pulled at the reigns and Rose came to a halt. All six Mareep ran by baaing while Mimi chased them into the field and chased them back into Leo's sight when they wandered too far. The Summer Meadow was a perfect place to graze. The elves kept the grass fresh and green and their magic made the Pokemon that ate the grass healthy. As much as Leo wanted nothing to do with elves or Dark Ones, he had to admit it was rather kind of the elven kingdom to let humans graze their herds here. That, and it would be a perfect time to train up his team. Mimi would watch over the Mareep while Nemo grew a little stronger, and Rose did need some training, if just to make her faster. The herd settled down rather quickly, Mimi positioning himself on top of a rock while he kept his eyes on the glowing tails moving around in the grass. It was rather high grass, that was for sure. Some of it brushed against Leo's heel. Nemo had hopped onto the saddle with Leo, the Nidorino having a few problems with the tall grass. At least the Mareep could be seen. That was a plus. Rose was enjoying the tall grass, only having to bend her head a little bit to nip at the tips. The air was even pleasantly cold with a nice breeze. A perfect day to graze the tiny herd that was for sure. -- Nemo ; Nidorino Male || Level 23 || Poison Point || Confusion

Rose easily strode around the field and kept Mimi in her sights. The Rapidash looked forward to having more little Mareep to look after. She found them good companions. The Mareep listening to orders from Mimi and knew not to wander off. Even if they did, Nemo would be fast behind to chase them back, and then Mimi would give them an earful. Thankfully, the Mareep weren't too bad. It was relaxing. Leo was enjoying the day too. He leaned back in the saddle and let out a sigh, enjoying the sun on his back. Working outside had made him tanner than he was before, and thus, more resistant to the sun. Even Leo had to admit, this was a much more relaxing job than being a champion. No paperwork, just him and a few adorable Mareep he had to remember to feed, water, and sheer. Nothing too stressful. Of course he missed his old job but- Mimi growled and stood tall on his rock, his eyes set down in the middle of the herd of six. Not really a herd if you thought about it. Nemo raised his head and jumped off of the saddle and charged through the grass, flattening it where he ran. Soon he skidded to a stop in front of a Spinda. The Pokemon was twirling around near the Mareep, falling flat on her face time and time again. Cute, but Leo wasn't a fan of Spinda. "Nemo?" He said, the Nidorino not requiring orders for which attacks to use. Unless it was a trainer on trainer battle, Leo let his Pokemon decide for themselves. Nemo charged forward and pointed his horn at the Spinda jabbing it viciously in the belly. Spinda twirled and then used Hypnosis, Nemo jumping out of the way. The only one that fell asleep was a Mareep. Leo bent down and scooped up the sheep in his arms. No one wanted a sleeping Mareep on their watch. Nemo shook himself and charged again, his attack missing. Spinda got a Faint Attack on him, causing a bruise to appear on Nemo's pink scales. Ow. Nemo gave a mini-roar and used Confusion fainting the Spinda after a critical hit. There. Threat eliminated. The Nidorino trotted over to Leo and gazed up at him expectantly. "Good job, Nemo." Praise received. A job well done. -- Nemo ; Nidorino Male || Level 23 || Poison Point || Confusion Health: 93% No Status Conditions.

Leo had almost forgotten how frequent wild Pokemon were. Even when he had his old job he rarely explored. His team was strong enough--obviously strong enough--and he had more work to do inside. Now? He felt like he was back on that first route. Just with a snoozing Mareep in his arm, a dog, a poison rabbit, and a horse. Speaking of frequent Pokemon, Mimi had begun to growl again and even herded in the five awake Mareep. Wonderful. Nemo scratched the ground, ready to get going again. Everything was silent in the grass, not even a twitch of a blade. Rose snorted and moved back, Leo keeping his eyes peeled in the direction Mimi was growling in. A blast of electricity then jumped through the grass, hitting Nemo right on his head. Leo yanked at Rose's reigns when she reared back. "Nemo! Poison Sting!" The Nidorino charged in the general direction the attack came from. He dived down, but his horn hit dirt. Damn this high grass. A strong kick came from Nemo's right, then another from his left. He gave a snort and returned them with his own Double Kick, knocking the cat away. He then charged with another Poison Sting, jabbing the cat's belly. Another blast of electricity sent Nemo flying off. This was getting annoying. Nemo roar and charged with a Horn Drill, meeting the Luxio mid way as they struggled and wrestled in the grass. Leo watched, ready to order Mimi to attack. His mind went right to King. Nemo's father would have the upper-hand in this fight. Nemo finally dealt the final blow and the cat charged away howling like a demon. Tired and hurt, Nemo laid to the ground. He still had energy though. Enough for a few more battles. -- Nemo ; Nidorino Male || Level 24 || Poison Point || Confusion Health: 75% No Status Conditions.

Oh how Leo wished he had some pokeballs. He would have to go gathering at some point to craft them. That was one thing Leo missed the most about the Phoenix he loved: always ready pokeballs. No need to get dirty looking for the materials to make them, they were all available for cheap purchase. Now the prices were sky high and crafting them was a pain. At any rate, there was nothing more that could be done. He would put the herd away later and go gathering. They needed to get things to sell for food anyway. Leo put the drowsy sheep down and sat on the rock by Mimi. Rose went grazing, enjoying her bitless bridle. Nemo, on the other hand, went wandering around the tall field, looking for something else to fight. He was too quick to jump onto battles without thinking. Not that it was a problem. Leo kept an eye on the young Nidorino, just in case. Just in case happened faster than Leo expected. A Vulpix sat alone by a small stream and licked at her fur. Nemo stumbled upon her and let out a battle cry, scratching at the ground. The fox looked up at him and sniffed, before licking her paw and running it over her ears. She had no interest in dirty beast like the pink rabbit-monster-thing. Nemo charged for a horn drill, the fox giving a disgruntled grunt. She jumped over him and her eyes glowed before the move was blocked from Nemo's memory for a short time. Landing with grace, the fox shook out her tails and let out a blast of fire at Nemo, burning him. Nemo snorted and went for a furry attack, the fox dodging every time. She was trying so hard to keep the dirt Nemo was kicking up off of her. Ugh. Gross. The two struggled for several more minutes, the Vulpix getting some good hits in while Nemo jabbed her with several poison stings; however, the Vulpix eluded the poison aftereffects every time. Their battle was only halted when Leo snatched Nemo from the ground and held the struggling rabbit-monster tightly against his chest. "Getting into trouble again? What did I tell you about wandering too far?" He hoisted the Nidorino onto his waist. That burn needed to be treated. Too bad Leo had no herbs. Oh, a Vulpix. That sent a jab of pain to Leo's heart. He set Nemo back on the ground and help out his hand to the fox. So what if he didn't have pokeballs, there was no harm in not wanting to fight with a wild Pokemon, right? Besides, Leo liked foxes. The Vulpix gave him a look before sniffing his fingers. She allowed him to rub her chin exactly three times before she snapped at his fingers. That was enough attention from a filthy human. "See ya later, Vulpix," Leo sighed, scooping Nemo up in his arms before he carried the Nidorino back to camp. The Vulpix shook her head and fanned her tails before she went back to fixing her fur. -- Nemo ; Nidorino Male || Level 27 || Poison Point || Confusion Health: 23% Burned. up next: ooc: Pfff, oh yah, what is math. Nemo laid down on Mimi's rock and watched over the herd, shaking every time his burn got the best of him. That meant it was Mimi's time to shine. The Herdier stayed on his rock and kept a look out for any more Pokemon, trusting Nemo to keep the Mareep together. If not Nemo, then Rose knew what to do. It didn't take too long for another Pokemon to show up, much to Mimi's delight. The dog wagged his tail and waited for Leo to give him the signal. Leo, who didn't really want to direct a battle at that time and was more concerned with a Mareep that was not eating grass but seemed adamant about eating it anyway, gave a nod. The dog shot off and barked and barked, before he jumped on the two headed bird and dug his fangs into its back for a Bite. The Doduo gave a startled cry and ran around, trying to shake Mimi off. They finally succeeded and Mimi went flying, smashing into the ground. The dog shook himself and charged again. The Doduo gave a battle cry and ran at him, speeding up for a Quick Attack before rounding on Mimi with a Peck. They were faster than him, that much was for certain, but Mimi's tough fur kept their attacks from hurting him too much. A perk for his species. He took them to the ground with a Tackle and managed to dodge another Peck. He then bit the shorter head of the two and shook it around, before the bird finally stopped moving, fainted. Mimi sat atop his prey and wagged his tail in joy, before he began to trot back off to the others. -- Mimi ; Herdier Male || Level 23 || Scrappy || Ice Fang Health: 83% No status conditions.

The herd was being stalked. Mimi's job was to look after them, and he had wandered too far. The baas of the sheep had Mimi rushing back to them, just in time to use a Take Down on the attacking Mightyena. The bigger dog rounded back with a Bite, latching onto Mimi's neck and shaking him. Mimi was no quitter, he struggled out of her grip and bit her with ice coated fangs as he hung onto her back, trying to stay on her long enough to weaken her out. The female dog had more experience with fights, however, and rolled to get him off before using Assurance. Mimi snarled and shook himself as he got between the Mareep and the Mightyena. Rose had already moved in with Leo to herd the sheep to another part of the meadow, Nemo--despite his injuries--herded the sheep and kept them together. They left Mimi to take care of the Mightyena, who was already charging to follow the fleeing herd. Rose snorted viciously and reared back when Leo pulled at her reigns. The fire horse stomped her hooves in a display of dominance, causing the female dog to skid to a stop and try to go around the angry horse. Mimi took the chance to jump the Mightyena and bite her with another Ice Fang, this time ripping at her fur with his claws. The Mightyena was defeated after another exchange of Tackles, Tackle Downs, Assurances, and Bites, both her and Mimi injured and bleeding in some places. Mimi growled at her as she limped off and charged to finish the job. He used another Take Down, causing himself more harm, before the female dog fell in defeat and fainted. Mimi shook himself and trotted back over to Leo. "Pity, we could have used another herding dog. But we don't have the funds right now. Come on, Mimi," he hoisted the dog up onto the saddle. "We'll go gathering after the herd has eaten. Can you take a few more hits?"Mimi barked and wagged his tail. Of course he could! He didn't know how many more, but Mimi was sure he could protect the herd for a bit longer. -- Mimi ; Herdier Male || Level 26 || Scrappy || Ice Fang Health: 64% No status conditions.

A series of growls brought Leo's attention to five little dogs. The herd was peacefully eating, but Leo knew right away that this would be the last battle of the day. Mimi was already at attention and was growling at all five of the dogs. Rose gave a small snort of encouragement as the young dog charged into the mass of the other dogs. Mimi was bitten, hit with Embers, and hit with Reversal. He managed to avoid a Destiny Bond. Mimi in return went Tackling, Ice Fanging, Biting, and Take Dowing the other dogs. He was receiving a lot of damage and was in near constant pain near the end of the hoard encounter, but he finally knocked out the last dog. Leo bent down in the saddle and scooped Mimi into his arms. That was far enough. "Nemo! We're going home!" Leo said. The slightly recovered Nidorino nodded and began to herd the sheep back towards the entrance of the meadow, and back towards the trip home. Leo would go gathering later on that day, or maybe the day after. -- End thread~. -- Mimi ; Herdier Male || Level 27 || Scrappy || Ice Fang Health: 24% Burned.
