| Gathering & Farming go to the reply for the gathering/crop guide and the ranch Pokemon guide
Without any big companies to manufacture things quickly anymore, gathering and farming are both very important. Not to say there are not any more shops or producers of items, but you would have better luck making your own at times.
Gathering When your in the field with friends or just training, you can gather items. Gathering is very easy and is very quick, especially when you do it for a while.
In order to gain items while gathering, simply ask staff to look at your social thread or training thread where you said your character gathered. It would be wise to bold, underline, italicize, or mention that your character gathered in the OOC section of your post.
Once you do this, staff will respond with what you gained after that gathering session. Please do not put "gathering" in every single reply. Especially in a social thread taking place in the field. Wait till the end of the thread and tally up your own gathering turns during the whole thread and then notify staff.
Of course, you will need to actually rp out the gathering. "he went digging through the underbrush to find some herbs and anything else he could find" will suffice.
You can also perform a "gathering Thread" (labeled in the title in all caps: {GA} ) where your character just goes off and gathers for a whole post with encounters if you so wish. The longer your post and the more you gather, the rarer and better items you will find.
farming This is another way to get what you need for items. To put it simply: you can buy seed at the store for whatever you need and plant it. Farming is very easy, too, and the larger your farm is, the more you can produce and combine!
When farming, it is important to remember that you need farmland. You can purchase farm land from the site store. You can "own" a farm of course, but you can't plant anything or use it as a ranch until you buy the proper permits.
Owning a farm actually offers you a lot of perks via items, and you can even make your own shop at your farm to sell your items to others or trade them.
To farm, you plant your crops with a post in your farm area with an update. Then one week after you plant you can reap the benefits. As an example: you have 10 corn seeds you planted. You gather 100 corn after one week. Whatever you plant is squared (x2) and then reaped after one week. You can then sell these items. Keep in mind, however, you only get half the seeds of what you planted.
So you planted 10 seeds and got 100 corn, but now you only have 5 seeds because 10/2 = 5/1 which is 5.
On the same note, ranching is another form of farming. Instead of crops, you raise herds of Pokemon that aren't used for battling but instead food and work on the fields. You can sell these Pokemon to the site store or to other members. This is almost like breeding, but a little different. Your herds can breed if you ask staff during the mating season of your herd.
Also, when you own a ranch and you sell members or your herd, you can sell them for money or trade them for items with the site. These items can already be crafted. Crafting go to the reply for the crafting guide
Crafting is just as easy as anything else. You need the following:
The items you need to craft something + a post in the site crafting store.
You do not need to pay anything to craft, but instead post in the crafting store. As soon as you post, be sure you edit your items. Staff won't need to respond with a confirmation, but they will make sure you removed the items from your inventory. Once you post, the item is yours. More of this is covered in the site store/crafting store.
You can craft and then sell or craft and then use. The choice is yours! |
