The Humans Humans are a tough enough bunch. many of the adults not only survived a war but also a magical battle. They have thus survived for fifteen years after and were even able to become respectable to some of other creatures they share the Region with. This group commonly train Pokemon after capturing them with Pokeballs. These are also your best breeders, but also the best kind to run an illegal trade ring if they so decided. The members of these groups typically stay in their own stretch of non-magical land, but they can easily join one side or the other when it comes to whoever they agree with most. By far the most easily changed species. learning magic is extremely rare for the humans, other than probably blowing their house up in a failed attempt. usually, only those with a higher spiritual level--those closer to mediums, clairvoyants, etc.--can grasp the concept of magic after long years of training. The Gijinka A group of scientifically engineered human-Pokemon. Those that survived the war were probably fighting on the side of the group that destroyed Phoenix, and probably sided with the Dark Ones. Other Gijinka left to side with the Elves, and even fewer to remain among the humans, many of which still see nothing more than the machines of war from before. Gijinka are created fresh in labs belonging to all races, though you are more likely to see one recently created from the dark ones than the other two races, mainly considering the humans have yet to be able to fully create artificial life once more after most of their technology and some of their greatest minds were wiped in the war. Gijinkas can't use Pokeballs and instead bond with Pokemon by talking to them. yes, they can understand pokemon speech. they can level up and use moves and abilities just like a pokemon can, though there are cases when a gijinka's powers can become highly unstable due to certain circumstances or an imbalance in their genetic code (the latter of which could result in death). they cannot learn magic. appearance gijinkas have a wide range of appearances. for the most part, they appear human, if you don't account for any cat ears, fox tails, etc. usually, the pokemon traits are minimal; however, there have been sightings of centaur-like gijinka (ponyta, deerling, etc.), angelic gijinka (pidgey, starly, etc.), etc. it all depends on the concentration of pokemon dna within their body and how well they were made. often times, however, there will be an imbalance within their physical and/or mental state as a result. lifespans often depend on a weird mixture of their human and pokemon dna. starting level: fifteen The elves A group born by the magic of Elder Life, they consider themselves her chosen children and thus right to rule the whole Region under light magic. They live in the magical fields of Elder Life and tend to keep far away from the dark lands of Elder Death and his children. Not all elves are good, however, some side with the Dark Ones if they have ever been exposed to dark magic. these elves are often classified as dark elves, and their skin has a tendency to darken even the slightest bit due to exposure to dark magic. Elves bond with Pokemon by either talking to slow bonding. They have a lot of problems bonding with and training dark, ghost, or poison types. It is not impossible, however, but elves that capture and train an adult dark, ghost, or poison Pokemon are shunned by the other elves for bonding with a creature born from dark magic. Unless the Pokemon was saved as a child and bonded with the elf on its own terms, it is taboo from training dark, ghost, or poison Pokemon. tHEY CAN ALSO USE POKEBALLS. Another ability among elves is their ability to understand some wild Pokemon with strong magic. Their life-long partner, for example, can be talked to only because this Pokemon was born in the tree of Elder Life. eLVES ALSO HAVE THE ABILITY TO HEAL WOUNDS AND CURE POISON BY A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT MAGIC. tHEY CAN ALSO SENSE JOY AND HAPPINESS INSIDE OTHERS DUE TO THE OVERFLOWING LIFE COMING FROM THEIR SOULS. tHIS MAKES IT EASY TO KNOW WHEN THEY SAY THE RIGHT THING OR NOT. government: The kingdom of the elves is a monarchy run by the king. The second in command is the king's wife, and then the head of defense. The advisers of the king is the head of defense and the ambassador; however, all decisions are made by the king in the end. The king is said to be in direct contact with Elder Life. Of course, the king is rarely seen outside of the castle or even the magical lands. The others that help rule the capital are more commonly spotted. The punishment usually dealt by the Elves on criminals involves being locked in the dungeon of the capital. fun fact: their national flower is the corpse flower (rafflesia arnoldii), not to be confused with the national flower of the dark ones. appearance: elves are known for their fair hair, fair skin, tall stature, and pointed ears. not all elves are tall, however, and the length of an elf's ears can vary from elf to elf. elves also have a longer lifespan along with reduced aging. many appear to "stop" aging in their twenties (due to reduced aging, usually this is after they turn one hundred). the eldest elf on record was nearing a thousand years of age before she was slain by elder death. naming your elf for this, we will typically head for a more lord of the rings feel with the elves on the site. as such, you can use many generators for names of the like, such as this one or whatever else you find online. while elves may have multiple names (father-name, mother-than, after-name, self-name), for purposes of simplicity, we will be going with only one name for our elven kind. this means that you will not have a last name. The Dark Ones The children of Elder Death live in his dark field of magic and tend to be masters in dark magic. tHEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO RULE THE rEGION, AND WILL GO TO ANY LENGTH TO AWAKEN THEIR eLDER IN ORDER TO DESTROY eLDER lIFE AND HER OFFSPRING. nOT ALL dARK oNES ARE DARK LIKE THEIR BROTHERS AND SISTERS, SOME OF THEM TEND TO BOND WITH LIGHT MAGIC AND WISH TO SIDE WITH eLDER lIFE. tHESE dARK oNES ARE SHUNNED AND SOMETIMES MURDERED BY THEIR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IF THEY DO NOT ESCAPE TO THE HUMAN LANDS FAST ENOUGH. dARK oNES BOND WITH pOKEMON BY FORCING DARK MAGIC INTO THE HEARTS OF THE pOKEMON OR BY USING pOKEBALLS. tHIS PROCESS CAN BACKFIRE, OF COURSE, BUT IF IT IS SUCCESSFUL, THE DARK ONE WILL FIND THEMSELVES WITH A VERY LOYAL COMPANION WHICH WOULD ALSO BE A VERY WILLING DINNER OR SACRIFICE. dARK oNES HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH FAIRY AND PSYCHIC TYPE pOKEMON. tHESE pOKEMON NATURALLY REPEL THEIR DARK MAGIC AND TAKE A LOT MORE WORK TO COMPLETELY CONTROL. tRAINING THEM IS ALSO VERY DIFFICULT. tHE ABILITIES OF THE dARK oNES ALSO CONTAIN AN ABILITY TO PERSUADE. wITH THIS ABILITY IN THE PROPER HANDS OF A dARK oNE, THEY COULD PERSUADE ANYONE TO DO WHAT THEY WISHED, EVEN WITH THE STRONGEST USER OF LIGHT MAGIC. tHIS ABILITY, HOWEVER, IS VERY DANGEROUS AS SOMETIMES THE ONE BEING PERSUADED CAN BACKFIRE WITH THE OPPOSITE MAGIC. tHEY ALSO HAVE THE ABILITY TO FIND AND LOCATE ANGER AND RAGE INSIDE THE SOULS OF HUMANS, gIJINKA, ELVES, AND pOKEMON ALIKE. wONDERFUL FOR FINDING MORE SERVANTS - OR SACRIFICES - FOR eLDER dEATH. government & religion: the dark ones are actually an ancient race called nosta tuulo' i' mori (birth from the dark in elvish); however, since it can be quite a mouthful, the public has taken to calling them the dark ones. they are, in a sense, cult-like, doing everything in the name of elder death. their government, unlike the elven kingdom, consists of a small circle of disciples who watch over everything. they hold meetings weekly to decide the fate of those deemed as criminals in the land of the dark ones, and they ultimately come up with plans for war, construction, etc. however, above the circle of disciples is a single person who, in the end, has the final word in everything. this person is considered by the dark ones to be a direct link with elder death and is seen as sacred, is heavily guarded, and whose word is considered that of elder death's. fun fact: their official national flower is the corpse flower (amorphophallus titanum), not to be confused with the national flower of the elves.. appearance: the dark ones have a wide variety of appearances. many are seen to be mere shells of what they could be, seemingly weak and scrawny, malnourished. yet, they possess fierce strength within the bat of an eye, clawed fingers easily tearing at clothing and flesh. many others closely resemble humans, though there has been debate over whether or not this is just illusion magic by other races. those who are more humanoid tend to have darker hair, skin that has a slight grey tint to it if you look close enough, and a wide variety of eye colors. yet, whenever they are filled with strong, negative emotions, their eyes will turn as red as blood. aging: it is unknown just how long the dark ones live for. many never last past two or three hundred years as elder death slowly leaches their life force away, drawing it in to replenish his energy. however, those who have been able to protect themselves with stronger dark magic have managed to live to be close to a thousand years old... assuming the elements do not get to them first. they are similar to the elves with their slowed aging, though the time in which their aging suddenly begins to slow varies greatly. there are teenagers nearing their hundredth birthdays walking around. the less fortunate end up having their aging slowed past their prime. naming your dark one the dark ones, while their true origin may be uncertain, will have a naming much like the elves. that means you can use this generator or whatever else you find online for a name. however, any elven names will not have any origins of light (such as a name meaning happiness or youth). the dark ones can also have names with origins from latin, greek, and hebrew. hell, use r'lyehian if you want. you will not have a dark one named bob, i can assure you that. the dark ones only have one name, meaning you do not have a last name. |
