He stood almost in the corner, watching the other guest flood in with the mask covering the top part of his face. It was green and gold, decorated with ancient Elven symbols that stood for peace and long life. There was even a feather on the side, the puffy cloud-like feather having come from one of the oldest Altaria in his kingdom. Thorin's tail laid across his feet, the Salamence watching the party guest with a bored look. After a few moments, the Salamence moved to the top rafters and sat there, watching over all the guest before he settled down for a nap, leaving Balin to look after the king.
Akkar felt uncomfortable. Not only was he in the land of the species that was almost wiped out from the war, but he was partly responsible. That, and he could see the auras of humans rather easily. He could see the different types, from playful to drunk to enraged. Akkar shifted on his feet and made sure his cloak was covering his shoulders and blocked his decorated gowns. There were no ranks here, which he was happy about, but he also didn't feel comfortable with coming. Most didn't know he was the king and probably just a socially awkward elf, but the fact was he was the socially awkward king of the elves. He should be trying to keep peace or something, but he couldn't find himself to join anyone on the dance floor. He shifted from foot to foot again, watching the clock as if somehow Elder Life would hear his prayers and speed up time--even though she couldn't do that. Yet he knew the Elder was probably fast asleep, or watching his suffering with a happy smile.
This would be fun, she said. It will be a good chance to get out of the kingdom, she said. Akkar just wanted to go home and go to sleep, then spend time with his own species. He knew how to act in front of elves, but humans and Dark Ones and Gijinka were another story.

Gomez, dressed in a black tuxedo with a purple shine, dark purple silk cape and wearing the mask of Phantom of the opera (which he thought was a great book), was sitting at a table near the bar. He was enjoying an old elven scotch. Gomez tried his best to keep his emotions uncontrolled. He knew if he would attack anyone or becomes really angry at someone he could cause an international incident.... he wanted to start a war but as long he didn't got the orders of The Divined he wouldn't start anything. Gomez sighted and looked around. He saw a Salamance flying to somewhere. Gomez looked from where the dragon flew and saw someone standing there uncomfortable.
Gomez asked to Mr. Bubbles who was floating next to him "Should I talk to him? You know.... So that I can have at least some other contacts for in case of you know...." Mr Bubbles looked at him and replied "Why not Kira? You know that everything can go to hell in a few seconds." he nodded, stood up and walked to the person in a elegant way. His cape followed him like a wind blew under it. When he got to the person he said in a formal tone "Good day sir. Wonderful evening isn't it?"

Akkar was so focused on the food table he hadn't noticed the stranger coming up to him, but Balin jumped into a defensive stance, the blades on his arms at the ready to attack. Akkar noticed the movement out of the corner of his eye and placed a hand on Balin's shoulder. Balin gave his master a glance before studying the stranger, relaxing only slightly.
"Sorry about him," Akkar said, bowing slightly in apology, "he's a little uptight." He ignored Balin's growls of protest. Akkar turned back to the dancers, shifting from one foot to another again. This was a formal event, he should be good at this stuff, damn it! He gave a small huff to himself. "Yeah, but I'm not quite used to such... diversity."
He smiled then, realizing he must have been terribly rude. Akkar offered a hand. "Pleasure to meet you sir." "Watch your back," Balin grumbled. Akkar recognized his speech. Balin, like most Pokemon in the Elven kingdom, was overflowing with Light magic. Therefore, Akkar could understand his every word. Other Pokemon, however, Akkar couldn't understand.
"Where do you hail from?" The question was one of loyalty, to one of the Elders, but Akkar knew here he had to accept all beliefs and rituals in order to establish peace. Even if he just wanted to curl up in bed in his pajamas and avoid any social interaction for another year.

Gomez stood his ground as a Grovyle jumped in front of the person he was going to talk to. When said person apologized for the Grovyle responded Gomez politely "It's okay. I understand that your partner here wants to protect you." And when the person in front of him offered his hand took Gomez his hand and shook it politely. When he heard the Grovyle saying to his partner that he should watch his back smiled Gomez friendly to the person. But when the person asked him who he hailed he responded with an honest tone "Well, I'm loyal to my boss who saved me long ago. But I don't think you meant that right?" Mr. Bubbles said to Gomez "I think he meant what you believe K." Gomez replied "Thank you buddy." He turned back to the person "Well, what I believe is that what my superiors tells me to do I'll do that. That's what you mean right?" He held his head a bit diagonal.

Interesting. He didn't expect that answer. It did clear up some of Akkar's next questions though, about what they did and who they took orders from if they performed what the humans called a "job". For elves, a job was just what you did as a hobby. Your duty was your "job". Still... "Ah, oh, no... I meant where you were born. Sorry for the confusion." This person seemed human, but he was listening to his Pokemon. So, was this person a Dark One? With no magic? Akkar had met a few Gijinka... "As in, human lands, Dark One lands," saying Dark Ones took him effort, "or elven lands." Balin wasn't enjoying the conversation. His eyes narrowed at the other Pokemon.

((It's alright))
Gomez replied "Ooooooh that.... that is an excellent question my dear friend....... I think I was born in the human lands because I'm one....... but I'm not sure........" Gomez took a drink of a waiter who came by, he closed his eye's as he smelled at the booze and said "Elvish red wine, 30 years old and kept in an oaken barrel and imported over the rest of the world in a red bottle." Gomez opened it and said with a friendly smile "I saw them pouring them in when I walked over here sir. But aside that where do you, like you say, hail from? If I guess it's not human.... or a half human perhaps?" Gomez was wondering who the person in front of him was.

Human but... perhaps not. The man was able to talk to his Pokemon. Regardless, he had to be loyal to someone. Ever had to, even if it was someone that was dead. Akkar supposed it didn't really matter. This was a peace gathering and being skeptical wasn't going to help matters at all. Shifting his weight, Akkar looked around the ball room. Ugh. He wanted to go home, but he had to be here.
"Elven," said Akkar. "I was born in the Elven lands, full elf myself." He pulled at his own pointy ears with a smile. Balin gave Akkar a snort, but it was ignored. What else was he supposed to do here? Ask for a dance? Offer more information? Idle chatter? Ugh, dealing with non-elves in a place like this was stressful. Akkar almost wished his father had trained him in being diplomatic to others.

Gomez nodded and said "That's good to know sir." Gomez took a sip from his glass "If you would like to know I'm a Gijinka." Gomez looked at the elf. "So.... would you like to sit down?" he offered the elf while gesturing to a table a bit away from the dancing floor. Gomez saw that the elf wasn't comfortable and for some reason that his Grovyle was protective.

Akkar moved to the table when it was offered, slightly grateful that he could sit down. Sitting alone was a little strange. Once he sat down, he made a motion to one of the waiters, an elven one, and spoke quickly in the elven tongue. The waiter nodded and moved away. It only took a minute before a glass of water was brought. Akkar took it gratefully, smiling at the waiter. His Grovyle sat next to him, claws on the table.
"A Gijinka," he finally said. "Interesting. May I ask what species you are crossed with?" Balin gave another growl. He could tell, but if this guy could understand him then better not talk to Akkar.

Gomez nodded and said "Well a hounddoom. And please don't get scared." Gomez hated it when people do that. He smiled friendly at the elf when he ordered something from a waiter. When the waiter came back with a glass of water looked Gomez to the elf and asked "Can I have the honor to get to know the person who's in front of me?"

He laughed at that. Dark types were "sworn" enemies of the elven people, sure, but Akkar didn't have any problem with them, as long as they didn't have any dark magic worming its way through them. "I'm not afraid," he said with a smile, Balin giving a growl. Akkar sighed. Why is it that Balin had to be so overprotective?
The next question killed Akkar's good mood, to say in the least. Who was he? Should he answer that or lie? Well... he probably shouldn't, it wouldn't look good for the kingdom. This was all about peace. "I am King Akkar, ruler of the elves." He said with a smile.

Gomez smiled and said "Well, that was unexpected." He laughed a little bit and shook his head at the attitude of the Grovyle "I promise not to harm you master Grovyle." Gomez said honest to the Grovyle. He then took a sip of his drink.

Balin snorted. "Don't take it personally if I don't believe you, hybrid." "Balin!" Akkar said, his sudden outburst making Thorin stir in the rafters, moving a little closer. "We do not use slurs! Apologize." Balin gave Akkar a look, before giving a grunt of apology towards the Gijinka. A few seconds passed, Akkar watching Balin carefully.
"I apologize for his attitude," Akkar said, "Balin is always stressed in situations like this. He finds it hard to be polite sometimes. Now, may I ask for your name? How rude of my to not ask before." Balin huffed at Akkar's words, a sudden force of light magic waking him lightly on the back of the head. Balin huffed again and looked away, crossing his arms. --

Gomez laughed loudly and said to the Grovyle "None taken. I didn't wanted to become like this." Gomez sighted and pulled his mask of and held his eye closed and putted an eye-patch on said "Sorry if I offend you right now but the mask hurt." Gomez looked the elf dead in the eye and said "My name is Gomez Mortem. Kira or Gomez to my friends, you can call me either if you want Akkar."
