LOVE YOURSELF TO DEATH get mine and make no excuses waste of precious breath Conn stretched, arms rising up toward the morning sun. He would have preferred to sleep in, but the sun was rising so early these days, making such endeavors difficult if not entirely futile. Then, well, what else was there to do but move forward? Parker charged ahead as always, still enchanted with this new world outside of Iron City, although a bit more aware than she had been previously. Columbo sprinted beside Conn, but remained steadily by his side. The male Phanpy felt safer beside his trainer in this new place, his eyes always on the ground around him. He had never been as sure about leaving the safety of Iron City, but he would make the most of it. The Wurmple was curled up, just poking his head out of Conn's bag, but aside from protecting the rest of the contents he wasn't particularly inclined to move just yet this day, having gotten used to his trainer's own laziness in the mornings. With him, the other two pokemon rested in their pokeballs; Conn hadn't seen any point in waking them just yet. Maybe in a little while. Parker tumbled ahead, seeking out possible new friends or adventures or experiences as she sped along a little distance ahead of him. 100% | No Status | Lvl 15 | F Phanpy | Pickup | Hyper Voice 100% | No Status | Lvl 15 | M Phanpy | Pickup | Stealth Rock 100% | No Status | Lvl 15 | M Wurmple | Run Away | Bug Bite 100% | No Status | Lvl 15 | F Fennekin | Blaze | Wish 100% | No Status | Lvl 15 | M Electabuzz | Vital Spirit | Ice Punch no Tag - it's about time i started this thread, ha. let me know if there's something i should change!

LOVE YOURSELF TO DEATH get mine and make no excuses waste of precious breath Conn sucked in a sharp breath as Parker shot right by a napping grass type, calling her back to him as quietly as he could manage while he dug in the sidepocket of his bag separate from his other items. No way was he going to use the Phanpy for this; ground types might as well be allergic to all that shrubbery, don't you know? It was as the female Phanpy returned to his side that Conn released the Fennekin from her pokeball with a pop that woke the Grotle with a start. Sal barely waited for Conn's cue, locking onto the grass type and rushing forward with a Flame Charge, hitting just before the Grotle retreated into it's shell with a Withdraw, raising it's defense. "Physical attacks aren't your forte, anyway. Try to keep a distance and stick to ember if you can." The fire fox obeyed, sprinting away as the Grotle fired a warning Razor Leaf, which grazed the Fennekin and wasn't very effective to begin with. She didn't even make a show of shrugging it off, returning literal fire with an Ember. The Grotle used Razor Leaf again, hitting the Fennekin, and Conn spoke up. "You should be focusing on dodging more, like we practiced. Use a Wish to be safe." Sal huffed, but complied, casting the move as she kept moving. The Grotle began to panic now, as the fire from the last ember continued to burn him, finally lashing out with an Earth Power. It took Sal by surprise as the ground erupted underneath her, and even as she moved to dodge the attack clipped her and was supereffective besides, sending her some distance where she landed, rolling some before coming to a stop. It took effort for her to stand, spitting a spiteful ball of flame at the slow moving Grotle before the Wish came into effect, what almost looked to be starlight cleansing the worst of her pain. While the Fennekin was already firing herself up for the next round, Conn called out to interrupt her, grabbing the free pokeball the Wurmple handed him from his bag and tossing it at the seriously hurt grass type pokemon. It landed with a thud, drawing in the Grotle's energy with a 'voom.' Sal growled her protest. "It could be useful," Conn replied in a matter-of-fact tone. As far as he knew, it wasn't typical for them to know that move. Maybe it could pass it down. "You did really well. Do you want to take a break now?" He asked as the pokeball shook. He shrugged when the fox shook her head eagerly. Fine. That worked, too. 68% | No Status | Lvl 15 | F Fennekin | Blaze | Wish Next up: 100% | No Status | Lvl 15 | F Phanpy | Pickup | Hyper Voice no Tag - sure!

LOVE YOURSELF TO DEATH get mine and make no excuses waste of precious breath The pokeball cracked open, the Grotle moving away from the team as fast as it could manage. A little disappointing, but oh well. Such things slid off of Conn easier than compliments. What proved more surprising was Sal being enveloped in a bright white light, her form shifting as she evolved into her next form. Oh, right. That was a thing that happened. It was Conn who noticed the dog pokemon moving quickly close to the bright light of the evolving pokemon, tail wagging. The trainer voiced his warning to Sal, but Parker was already rushing forward with a full on Rollout attack, knocking the dog back just as it started to leap. Sal shook herself off, a newly formed Braixen, just in time to see it happen. She sniffed, clearly certain that she could have handled it herself, but turned and returned to Conn's side, nose raised. It was as she had already found her place on the other side of Conn than Columbo stood that Parker was coming around to the Lillipup for a second round, building momentum. She managed the hit, but the pup had been ready for her this time, latching on to her ear with a bite. Ouch! Parker broke from her rollout, screeching a Hyper Voice attack to try to get the dog to let her go. It worked, and the pup slouched to the ground, defeated. Proud of herself, the Phanpy raced back to Conn and Sal and Columbo, trumpeting the whole way. Conn laughed, praising her, "I'm proud of you, looking out for Sal like that." The Braixen gave a low growl of protest, but didn't seem terribly bothered in truth. 87% | No Status | Lvl 15 | F Phanpy | Pickup | Hyper Voice no Tag - notes

LOVE YOURSELF TO DEATH get mine and make no excuses waste of precious breath Everyone looked up when suddenly a Pidgey swooped down, landing a few feet away. Perhaps summoned by the obnoxiously loud hyper voice Parker had used, he immediately burst into song and... well... to Conn's memory he'd never heard birdsong so terrible unless it was early morning. Parker apparently took such offense to it she barreled forward with a rollout, knocking the bird over before he even realized she was coming. It wasn't like Conn had ever put a serious amount of effort into her manners to begin with. Still, once he recovered he retaliated, speeding after her with a quick attack before she'd even finished rounding her way back to him. That was fine; it made it all the easier for her to turn sharply and hit the bird with the added momentum of a second rollout attack. It was only then that it seemed to occur to the Pidgey to take a distance to the battle or even just flee, but it was too late. As he shot up into the sky, Conn was already throwing the Pokeball, aimed right at the bird Pokemon. Beside him, Columbo gave a soft trumpet, possibly with the intention of alerting Parker because she unfurled to trumpet in the direction of the sky, looking around for the bird or pokeball. LOVE YOURSELF TO DEATH get mine and make no excuses waste of precious breath Parker gave a final toot! as the pokeball fell back to the ground with a final 'click'. Conn laughed as he moved to pick it up, "Yeah, yeah, you tell 'em." It was silly, but relaxed and familiar to how they'd interacted in the city. Maybe he was getting the hang of this, and Parker was so proud of herself he could almost call today a good one simply for that. He ran his finger over the pokeball absentmindedly. Flying types failed to fascinate him personally, but something about it had reminded him of- Columbo cried out in warning, and Conn looked up to see a Seviper rearing her head from just behind Parker. Conn cursed, "Parker, come here, now." She didn't hesitate to obey, bolting toward Conn with a rollout just as the snakes jaws snapped around the air when she had just been, hairs away from the small blue elephant. The Seviper wasted no time, sliding after the Phanpy with a low hiss that raised to an ear shattering screech, clearly intent on inflicting a world of pain. It was once Parker had found her place next to Columbo behind Conn that Sal stepped forward, pulling the stick from her tail and pointing it at the Seviper. She cast a psybeam that struck the snake in the center, interrupting the noise. Conn pulled his hands from his ears to dig in his bag, the wurmple unfurling to push a pokeball into his hand. It was as the giant snake lunged once more that Conn threw the pokeball. 68% | No Status | Lvl 18 | F Fennekin | Blaze | Wish no Tag - returned phanpy lvl 16, threw pokeball

LOVE YOURSELF TO DEATH get mine and make no excuses waste of precious breath Everyone moved back a distance when the seviper was released from the pokeball. Lucky for Conn, her goals had readjusted to getting away as fast as she could with the threat of capture looming over her. Parker and Columbo trumpeted after the giant snake in both unison and victory. The purple wurmple poked its head out of the bag to watch her leave, seeming disappointed. Conn put the pidgey's pokeball into his bag pocket next to Foley's. He'd have to get it settled and situated later, not to mention let him heal from Parker's thrashing, before deciding anything else for him. As he fastened the pocket, he praised Sal. "You did really well, there." The words seemed to slide off her just as easily as they would have him, though she was more obvious with it, outright shrugging. She was already actively seeking out her next fight. She wanted to get stronger, and he wasn't about to get in her way. "Do what you want, but stay close."It was a mankey she saw just down the hill, and she charged forward without waiting for any further acknowledgement. Sliding some as she stopped a distance away with a battlecry, she quickly cast a psybeam. It hit true, and the monkey cried out in pain before lashing out. The karate chop hit, and Sal grunted, but the blow ultimately glanced off. Another up close and personal psybeam, and the mankey went down. She ran back to Conn, before they started to move on. "Not bad, but try to focus on dodging a bit more next time, okay?" 63% | No Status | Lvl 18 | F Fennekin | Blaze | Wish no Tag - win!

LOVE YOURSELF TO DEATH get mine and make no excuses waste of precious breath Salander lead the charge once again, which was actually a brisk walk on Conn's part but had Parker and Columbo rolling along with him. Columbo moved at a calm roll which he occasionally peeked up from, and Parker in aggressive spurts that nearly caught up with Sal at times. The wurmple made a few noises in Sal's overall direction. Wasn't it time to go home yet? He hadn't seemed to realize quite yet that they were not going to return to Iron City. It hadn't sunk in enough for Conn to realize he had to actually sit everyone on the team down and let them know that they had left the city for good, for the most part. Whoops. It was Conn who saw the floette first, but Sal didn't take long to catch sight of her either. She charged forward, yelling what sounded to Conn to be a battlecry, or perhaps an invitation? Sure. It was good to train. The floette twirled up in the air, making a sound Conn couldn't quite process. What a strange pokemon. The creature sent a fairy wind Sal's way, hitting her full on with pink mist and sending her back a small distance. The fox panted, shooting a psybeam in response and hitting the fairy type. "If you're getting tired, try using wish again." Conn offered, managing to remain calm. He'd noticed her wearing down, confirmed by the sharp nod the fox made before twirling the stick she held in her hand. The floette seemed almost to cry foul play, lashing out with a vine whip in an attempt to actually grab the braixen's wand and rip it out of her hand. Sal outright snarled at this, only bothering with a tug of war for a few moments before retaliating and taking the fight to the fairy type wrapped in the fire of a flame charge. Allowing herself to be propelled by the force of the vine whip's pull, moving right through the hit of the floette's desperate razor leaf. The physical fire attack had clearly hurt the wild pokemon, and yet she seemed only more determined to keep fighting, as if she wanted to hurt the fox back just as much, only frustrated and encouraged as the healing effects of the wish visually set in for Salander. Conn was impressed, honestly. He watched quietly as the floette lashed out with a fairy wind that bathed the fox in damaging mist, Sal stubbornly keeping close and erupting again in the fire of a flame charge. "That's enough. Get some distance." It was clear the wild pokemon was wearing down, her energy fading fast. He had to make a decision within a clear "now or never" frame of mind. The braixen nodded before leaping back with what was almost a howl. Conn aimed true with the pokeball, which opened and drew the floette in flower first. LOVE YOURSELF TO DEATH get mine and make no excuses waste of precious breath Conn picked up the pokeball once it stopped moving, palming it in his hand before carefully placing it in the same pocket as the pidgey's pokeball. "If you're tired, we can take a break." It was an offer he really meant, but the fox just started walking again in response. Well, okay. Sal had always been her own powerhouse, more interested in fighting and getting stronger than Conn had ever been in the city. That had always been fine. Now that she was getting her wish, he wasn't about to stand in her way. He was just worried she might push herself too hard, was all. She didn't have as much to prove as she seemed to think she did, at least not in his book. This time, it was the lickitung who saw them first. Sal's psybeam was used out of reaction to the large pink tongue rolling toward her, not really even seeing what she had hit until it had already slathered her more than enough. She practically howled, her disgust clear for all to see. When the lickitung went to lick her again, she tried another psybeam. She watched it hit, watched the resulting tremor on the lickitung's body, knew she had managed to hurt it. Unfortunately, it still managed to lick her a second time anyway, and she cried out in dismay as she tried for a moment to wipe some of the thick saliva off. "Uh." Conn said from a (hopefully?) safe distance, "You okay on your own out there?" The braixen practically hissed in response, because no? Ew?? No??? Already, she was starting to hurt from the impact of the fumbling wild pokemon's hardly affectionate attacks. She cast another wish so soon after the last time already. However, the time she took to do so afforded the lickitung time to get close, this time trying to wrap around the fox and squeeze her tight. Ohhh, that was it. Sal burst into flame, effectively covering herself in a flame charge, intent on hurting the lickitung until he let her go. Even as she succeeded, and was released, the tongue hit her as she stumbled away. She felt the healing effects, but while it helped to soothe her wounds it did not ease the burn of fatigue that was finally beginning to wear on the fox. The lickitung was doing much worse, at least. She snarled, intent on making him suffer for her harassment, casting a psybeam once more. This time, though, she faltered, the attack noticeably weaker than it had been before. All the same, it struck through and clearly hurt the other creature. The lickitung began to panic then, lashing out with a screeching supersonic that hit the fox full on, and it was as though the world began to spin. Right. That was enough of that. "I'm proud of you, but you've done enough." Conn pulled Sal's pokeball from the bag and promptly returned her into the safe haven. "Finish it, Parker." The small blue elephant didn't even wait for her attack orders, rushing forward. He'd hurt her friend! The lickitung locked onto the small elephant easily, bringing his thick tongue down hard against the ground - good thing Parker had been practicing dodging, or the force of that attack alone could have seriously hurt her. She sped forward with a rollout attack, hitting him square in the center before rolling away from a parting lick attack that left her wet, but not as visibly damaged as Conn had feared it might. She came back again for a second round, hitting him with the built up momentum, and this time managed to avoid the lickitung's tongue for the second time. It was starting to sway now, barely able to stand. All the same, it was dangerous and still moving. Just a little more! But the phanpy was still building momentum when it hit a third time, and the lickitung collapsed. "That's enough, Parker, good job." She went a bit of a distance back towards Conn and away from the lickitung before she unfurled, skipping a bit of a distance more before stopping fully. She was covered in grass, packed on by the saliva she'd been coated in, and felt sticky. The phanpy shuddered before shaking herself like a wet dog with a long drown out trumpet, as Columbo ran forward to try to comfort her. Ewwww!"You did really well, at least?" Conn doubted it would do much to ease her disgust though, and he couldn't really blame her for that much. He glanced back at the lickitung. "... Is it even moving?" tl;drRd 1 Psybeam vs Lick Rd 2 Psybeam vs Lick Rd 3 Wish vs Wrap Rd 4 Flame Charge vs Lick (heal from wish) Rd 5 Psybeam vs Supersonic Rd 6 Switch to Parker/Phanpy F vs Knock Off, miss Rd 7 Rollout vs Lick Rd 8 Rollout vs Lick, miss Rd 9 Rollout, overkill? probably overkill. 80% | No Status | Lvl 19 | F Braixen | Blaze | Wish 73% | No Status | Lvl 16 | F Phanpy | Pickup | Hyper Voice no Tag - test!
