TM Move: n.a THERE IS NO PEACE OF MIND PERSONALITY Altair, to say the least, certainly doesn't come off as the friendly kind of person that people get to know with a bit of persistence and determination- or that they get to see when Altair is put around his children. So yes, fun to be around, seemingly caring and a bit childish after someone has become friends with him. Or if he is put around his children. What people first see when they meet him would be a quiet and reserved man. Temperamental, not very nice and he'll probably snap at them- depending how they behave towards him. But, at least he is still respectful, respect is a major thing with Altair and even though he doesn't show it all the time or acts otherwise- he most likely respects you. Especially with people he sees as superior and along those lines. Altair also can come off as rather serious and stern, he doesn't play around unless the two exceptions are met that are listed above. Around his children, old and close friends- only time he will ever fool around. With this, he also takes his business quite serious. No matter the task, he will most likely handle it well. He can also be rather caring and protective, like anyone. This mostly comes from having children and also having friends who he feels he has to protect- seeing those friends as weak who need to either toughen up or just remain sheltered. Sometimes harsh with his wording, Altair does mean well. Most of the time. Only time this harsh wording wouldn't be is if it was toward and enemy, he was insulted or things along those lines. HISTORY
Like nearly all gijinkas, Altair was made in a laboratory. A legendary gijinka made at that, he was fairly special to the scientists yet they had to give him up. A rich man and his wife wanted this Giratina gijinka, having requested him actually- ending up paying a good price for this guy too. So in the end, Altair was sent home with them within the first couple of months.
Things were pretty fine within the first couple of years up until he was six years old. At six years old, the Giratina's conscious awoke and put up quite a fuss with the young one. Bullying him and actually forcing the boy to do things, in return for some guidance and help. Yet one day the Giratina took it to far and pushed Altair to far. After an argument, the Giratina told him he was a weakling and that he'd never be able to kill someone- not even his own parents.
Feeling challenged and the need to prove himself to this demon, he did it. In the mild of the night, he slaughtered his parents before actually going to sleep. The horrors and the reality of such deed confronted him in the morning and he was slightly in the state of shock. Or well, he would have been more in that state of shock if it wasn't for the demon actually comforting him and giving him nudges here and there to help him out.
But in the end, it became a case in the region of Sinnoh where Altair grew up. It was a brief case, Altair being deemed criminally insane and being thrown into a mental institution until the court deemed he was corrected for society. They even promised to erase such horrible title off the record for good if this demented gijinka made and sort of recovery from this.
When the court order was issued, he was thrown into a maximum security mental institution. It was overcrowded, understaffed, sexual abuse and the like ran high along with torture and types of inhumane therapy. Like many patients, Altair was scared and nearly driven deeper into a mental state- yet the Giratina helped him. Comforting him and being the new father voice in this boy's head, keeping Altair from drowning in what was happening.
Altair hated it but it helped in the long run, considering Altair managed to get out of there at the age of twenty due to court order. His file wiped clean as promised, so he fled the region and ended up here in Phoenix. He has lived here ever since. Doing various jobs but mainly keeping to himself. Him and the Giratina, that was all it was and that was all it needed to be.
That was until he was about one hundred eighty. At this age, he met a human lover- a male who he loved a lot. They moved into the Forgotten Jungle, built a house and later adopted kids. Yet only a year ago, this human was stuck in a freak accident which killed this lover of his. It has had a toll on the children and especially on Altair. Hopefully he'll get over it with his new job as a ranger.
