Personality - A fairly loyal person, truly, even thought he may not seem like it. He tends to be fairly reserved with the people he trusts, to say the least but isn't that expected of such person? Considering he came from a family who were Stantler and Sawsbuck herders that rarely came in contact with cities and villages, much less people who were not considered relatives to them. So with this said, it is a tad to fairly reasonable why he doesn't trust many people real quickly. He will trust them over time and people who don't like that, well, he never said that they had to. But why would someone like that seek a different life? One completely alien towards the kind of life he knew and grew up with? To simply say, Nikolajs is an adventurous spirit. Nik wanted to see what else the world had to offer and what other type of pokemon there were. So with a bit of research at the library he got to go to when they were in a village, he decided with the fairy and fire type of pokemon as well as to be a trainer. It is a long leap but he was truly interested in becoming a trainer out of all things. History - There is mentions of eating disorders so if such is triggering, you may not want to read any further. Born and raised in solid winter and coldness, it was not a surprise he was a sickly infant. The doctor gave him a month to live, at most, from birth but he proved them wrong. Considering that he is now twenty nine and healthy as a horse, despite the anorexia and bulimia. But that is a different story for now, now we talk about his childhood and how he grew up. And for growing up, it certainly wasn't easy. One member of the family would always have to go with less food and at an early age, Nikolajs was working. They of course, needed any extra help they could get. So naturally, at the age of five, he began to help his father and older brother out with herding the Stantlers and the Sawsbuck. They'd raise and train the young ones, harvest the pokemon and sell the meat and hide or eat it- use it in anyway they could. They got good money off the pokemon in their herds too. But like all herders, they traveled a lot. In the coldest part of the region in practically the middle of no where, they'd travel to make sure the pokemon had fresh grass to graze and when that ran out? They'd travel to greener pastures, though the pastures were normally under snow. So why did Nik choose to be a fire specialist? Because he loves warmth from fires, not dry heat or anything but that warmth was what he looked forward to as a child. So why not work with the said pokemon that were like that? Though the fairy types did interest him a lot too. And as he grew up, he started to take the more major roles. He was the one that would have to cut back on food, it got to a point he would simply not eat. And quickly this grew into an eating disorder for him, Anorexia. Now it wasn't from the way he viewed his weight, hell, he didn't even know his weight. But merely from getting use to starving himself, from thinking he needed to starve himself so his family could eat. Later, this grew into another eating disorder on top of it. Bulimia. Feeling guilty when he ate to much, yeah--. So this developed over time due to the situation he was in and he can't bring himself to get over both of those things. With this said, he goes from underweight to severely underweight despite his good build and his size in general- having to been hospitalized about twice before because of his weight too. Really, Nikolajs may be strong with a good build and size but he is frail due to these disorders. One could easily snap a bone with his usual current state. During his twenties, he began questioning if there was more to life than just this. So off he went, did some research and started a new path of the unknown. Face Claim - Denmark from Hetalia. |
